Founded in 2021, SixKarma (6K) is a prominent Mexican esports organization dedicated to elevating the competitive gaming scene in Mexico. In just a short time, it has established itself as a leading force in Latin America’s esports landscape.
As a rapidly growing organization, SixKarma sought a brand identity that reflects its remarkable achievements and ambitions.
6K's rapid growth is largely driven by its dynamic and energetic vision of gaming. We wanted to convey all that motion through the elements that define the brand. With this challenge in mind, we began working on its visual identity.
For the logo, we developed a custom typeface designed specifically to embody the brand's identity. The logo features both an extended and a simplified version, allowing the brand to adapt seamlessly into various application formats.
In both iterations, the bold design and diagonal lines of the letters stand out, emphasizing a sense of motion and energy.
Additionally, we created a collection of logo containers to enhance versatility and visually represent elements from the different video games in which 6K’s teams compete.
SixKarma utilizes two typefaces to define its visual identity. Owners, the primary typeface, brings impact to headlines and mirrors the bold presence of the logo. Complementing this is Offbit, a highlight typeface inspired by Bitmap, designed to add decorative elements and infuse additional character into the brand’s communications.
SixKarma's primary colors are lime green, neon green, and graphite black. Supporting these are secondary shades, including grays, cream green, and white, which provide a sense of balance and harmony.
The palette also incorporates a blue tone for fantasy games and an orange tone for shooter games, adding depth and versatility to the brand's visual identity.
Drawing inspiration from the typographic characteristics of the logo, we created a family of 20 icon references designed to meet specific web demands.
Additionally, we developed two groups of graphic elements: the HUD elements, characterized by the use of lines as a common denominator, and the 3D objects, created using grids.
These graphic elements are designed to be used in small sizes, serving as visual reinforcements in the brand's communications.
In addition to these elements, we also designed two pattern collections with the intention of ensuring that every brand touchpoint reflects its essence.
The new Olacio
In line with the new brand, we reimagined Olacio, the 6K mascot. A 2D version and a 3D version have been developed, along with a version of Olacio's face, which serves as a distinctive and simplified element of the character.
Within the SixKarma family, certain elements and services, due to their significance and impact, deserved their own unique identities.
One example is the concept of "La Ola Verde" ("The Green Wave"), a motto encapsulating the energy and strength driving the team. For this, a liquid-design logo was created, composed of moving particles, making it an incredibly versatile element.
Additionally, a symbol was designed to complement both this logo and the main 6K logo. Similarly, the concept of "Marea Alta" ("High Tide") was given its own logo. However, as a derivative of "La Ola Verde," it aligns with its graphic and expressive characteristics.
Finally, for the Academy, a logo inspired by university crests was developed. The crest acts as a container for various motifs, projecting a fresh and bold image. This logo also includes an animated version.
Ready to stream
We also designed a series of broadcast layouts, including animations for titles and names, player introductions, video transitions, and even a specific animation for the 6K logo. This ensures all audiovisual content maintains consistency and continues to reinforce the brand’s essence, regardless of the type of video being streamed at any given moment.
SixKarma's identity is built on a modular and dynamic system of rectangles that can adapt to the brand's various needs. From social media layouts to the website which we developed in-house, corporate presentations, and any future requirements, this system ensures consistent and versatile branding over time.
To conclude, we designed an official apparel collection that perfectly reflects the brand's character and strengthens the sense of community. This is complemented by a casual clothing line and a wide range of accessories.
The result of our work is a unique and highly cohesive ensemble that ensures the gamers' talent stands out above all else, allowing the SixKarma community to grow infinitely.
